About The Erickson Foundation

Headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, The Milton H. Erickson Foundation is a global destination for professionals in the behavioral health sciences. Our Center of Excellence in Hypnosis and Psychotherapy offers rich, highly advanced educational resources through major conferences, workshops and online courses, as well as through our academic books, audiovisual materials and incomparable archives.

The Milton H. Erickson Foundation was established by Jeffrey Zeig, Ph.D., as a way to honor Zeig’s most significant life instructor— Dr. Erickson. Founded in 1979, the Foundation has flourished while supporting psychotherapists and other professionals to better serve the emotional growth and healing of their patients through the use of hypnosis, metaphor, humor, and much more. Dr. Milton Erickson was a pioneer in psychotherapy, and noted by many to be one of the top ten most influential psychologists in the 20th Century. His close colleagues in life included anthropologist Margaret Meade and her husband Dr. Gregory Bateson, British author Aldous Huxley, Dr. Paul Watzlawick, and noted marriage and family therapist Jay Haley, co-founder of the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, CA.

Make plans to visit our Foundation headquarters today! Arizona offers beautiful temperate weather through most of the year, and all the exciting outdoor activities to go with it. So much of the Native American Indian culture is woven into our visitor attractions that you, like Dr. Erickson, will be fascinated by your visit. We look forward to hearing from you.
